Hello, I am Cathleen Kargard.

I am a mother of three daughters, a chef, baker, botanist, and gardener who loves creating delicious and healthy foods. I value the art of gardening, growing and incorporating the many herbs, edible flowers, fruits and vegetables from my home garden into my culinary creations.

I am a self-taught chef, with a long culinary history. Growing up cooking and baking with my father, working in many restaurants and bakeries, taking courses at CIA in Napa, California, teaching culinary classes, and as a private chef, I have honed my ability to create balanced, flavorful, and unpretentious cuisine from across the globe.

In 2016, I created Wild Flours Kids Kitchen to assist young chefs in creating nutritional, botanically inspired culinary creations. I teach young chefs basic skills to build upon, helping to empower them in the kitchen while focusing on fundamental cooking techniques and advanced culinary skills. I have taught cooking classes in both private settings and local schools.

I thrive on sourcing the freshest seasonal ingredients from local markets. Valuing the local community and respecting the environment, I work with local farmers, using a variety of organic, fresh, seasonal ingredients in my dishes, bringing the best of the region's produce to your table.

I am available to teach children, teen and adult cooking classes, plan creative menus and cook delicious meals for any occasion - from small private events to meal deliveries, postpartum meal planning or preparation, to special occasion cakes and baked goods. Please get in touch at wildflourcooking@gmail.com
